Ok I tried their forums but it seems nobody seems to know anything about this issue so I return to reliable Atari Age and hope someone has a little advice. Black Screen issue: I have all the BIOS files from my PS2 and even tried renaming them to.rom1, rom2 etc.
The issue is a black screen when running an ISO of a game. One thing I noticed is when I click on Config-Plugin Bios selector I see the following error appear on the console window: Path: D: Library Video Games PS2 Emulation PCSX2 1.0.0 Plugins gsdx32-avx-r5350.dll File is not a valid dynamic library.
Some kinda plugin failure: D: Library Video Games PS2 Emulation PCSX2 1.0.0 Plugins gsdx32-avx-r5350.dll The plugin and DLL file of course are there as this is the default install. I have installed PCSX2 on my D: drive to avoid rights issues and have also tried running it as admin. I read somewhere about compatability issues with Intel chips and Graphics cards using GSDX but pretty sure my i7 and Nvidia 580 are ok. I switched to SSE2, SSE41 and SSSE3 and same issue. Now I'm thinking it may be the BIOS files. I run Win7 64.
Here's a copy of the log: PCSX2 1.0.0.r5350 - compiled on Aug 1 2012 Savestate version: 0x9a080000 Host Machine Init: Operating System = Microsoft Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (build 7601), 64-bit Physical RAM = 16375 MB CPU name = Intel® Core™ i7 CPU 960 @ 3.20GHz Vendor/Model = GenuineIntel (stepping 05) CPU speed = 3.206 ghz (8 logical threads) x86PType = Standard OEM x86Flags = bfebfbff 0098e3bd x86EFlags = 28100000 x86 Features Detected: MMX. GPU Name: NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX+ -2 MB. Cool.I still haven't gotten it to work but at least I can reference your config.
I'll be doing another report today when I get home and compare it more closely. One thing I did notice is that even though I'm running PCSX2 0.9.8.r4600 like you are.the binding for GS is different for me.
Another thing is that with version 0.9.8 I no longer get any errors in the console. Everything looks ok but when running a game its still just a black screen. I tried two different games that were on the compatability list (ripped the CD's using IMGburn). Anyway I'll play around with the settings again tonight and maybe redump those BIOS files as a last resort. Binding GS: D: games emu PS2 plugins 771svn GSdx 1.8 sse2.dll.
Yeah, I don't think my CPU supports SSE4 instructions. SSE2 seems like a good fallback. I also have so many BIOS files in my BIOS directory, I don't know which corresponds to which in the in-app menu. I'd send you my working files, but I can't identify 'em.
I could send the whole 12MB mess if you think it might help. Edit: I guess I could zip the entire directory, since it seems self-contained. Cool I'll try them if you can zip them up or somehing.
However you want. When I dumped mine (I have a modded slim PS2) it didnt show any errors during the dump but I saw the files didnt exactly match what it says on their FAQ. Like they say ROM1, ROM2 and I had ROM0 and ROM1. Plus there some others in there I have no idea what they are. Possibly a file for the PS2CD drive and another for something else.
I just put them all in the BIOS folder and it liked it.
